Japan: Day 1 - Tokyo

And so it began, as all long-ish trips do, at the airport. I, personally, get stressed out with pre-flight procedures; checking in, immigration, security scans, etc etc. It's so much to take in in a little amount of time, and you never know how it's going to go- I always prepare myself for the worst queues and am relieved when that's not the case. But anyway, on with the interesting stuff...

[Check ins at Japanese hotels aren't until 2:00 or 3:00 pm.
We (mom and I) arrived at Tokyo around 7:30am- that meant I had to trek around the city in the same clothes I wore on the plane (and the previous day).
So excuse my overall appalling appearance.]

At 7 Eleven
After dropping off our bags at the hotel, we made our way via subway to Harajuku Station.

Loved so many things here- and those cat bags!

We stopped by a coffee shop (Doutor chain) before we continued onto Yoyogi Park to the Meiji Jingu Shrine. At said coffee shop I fell in love with a decorative curtain.
Is it not the coolest?

Once we made our way back outside, we ran into these girls.

This is also the place where you can find the Hachiko Statue.
I'm a sucker for animals and their stories, this one is no exception.

At this point, late in the afternoon, the flight was getting to us. We made our way back to the hotel to check in properly and rest a bit, before heading back out at night to roam the streets in Shinjuku (where we were staying at).

After that, it was time to call it a good night for the day.

I'm trying so hard not to spam you all with a lot of photos- I took so many it's hard to pick a few!
In the meantime, I will also be uploading my Flickr stream with different photos.
So, please stop by.

Tune in for Japan: Day 2!

Yeah, I kind of felt bad for not stopping for a hug, I mean, they were free...

Funny, I just came back from a trip to Singapore with my mom, our trips look a lot alike:D

I've been dying to got to Japan though! I went there once, but I was too young to really do research and pick out all the things I wanted to see.

Did you see the movie Hachi too?
