In Which Cat Lady Reunites with Her Favourite Feline Friend

All is good in my life again.
Well, at least all is more complete

Our first encounter was a little rough- after a 6 month absence she wasn't entirely sure it was me (and with 36 hours of plane rides/airport-ness on me, I can't blame her).

She proceeded to show her affection the way only Buttercup knows how to- which was a little too much for me to handle.

But we settled on a comfortable togetherness.*

A lot of purring (hers, not mine) occurred. **

Tomorrow I shall be turning a quarter of a century.
Yikes! I've hit that mark in life.

But hey, things only get better, right?
Happy Weekend!

The Final Countdown (Or A Brief Her-story of Cats)

Not to the end of the world. We all know that's not happening. Trust me, there's Mayan blood in me.

If you really want an unflattering picture of yourself, X-ray effect is the way to go. Go on, smile on camera and you'll know what I'm talking about. Water, on the other hand, looks really nifty.

When I'm not distracted by Photobooth and my uncanny resemblence to an X-men, I'm counting down the days for when I'll be re-united with my love, my precious, my Butters.

Oh, long hair...
Even though she's cat and I'm human, we're like two peas in a pod.*

In exactly one month I'll be flying back home to my Mexico Lindo y Querido and hold my cat in my arms once again.
Thanks to technology (and doting family members), distance hasn't been a huge issue.
We've managed to schedule Facetime chats into our busy schedules.

I look great in Facetime snaps. Ha.
It came as no surprise that she wasn't very keen on talking, but rather rubbing against whoever was holding the iPod and meow-ing for tap water.

Now children, gather round to hear the story of a cats who won the heart of a Cat Lady...

Cats & Skulls

This week I came across two items I couldn't bear to part with and, therefore, had to take home with me. Here's a sneak peak!

Too Fuckin' Cute

I've been saying that a lot lately.
There are just too many darn cute things around here, mostly from Japan. I can't help but freak out at all the cutesy designs, most on items that are truly just useless...
Still. I think I've discovered my love of all things cute. Kitsch.
For example: Take a look at this.

This is why I'll never be a 'real' grown-up, an adult.
A cat in a bonnet. A cat flying with balloons. Cat stickers that remind me of my precious.
HOW COULD I (a real Cat Lady) RESIST, I ask you.

Add this with today's look....
Pixie cut + Collar + Polka Dots + Pastel
Both photos taken by me and edited with picnik *
It's like I'm 8 years old all over again.
A couple years ago I wouldn't have been caught dead in a dress like this. Now that I have to fight against looking like a boy with such short hair, I rely on clothes and some simple makeup to accentuate my femininity.

What are some things you feel a little guilty-too old to be buying?

*Picnik has sort of become my obsession recently. Also pretty kitsch, if you ask me. Too bad it's closing in April... Anyone know what else I can use to combine photos in one frame?
